Garden to Vase – May Edition
£220.00
Enjoy a full day of floral indulgence picking and arranging flowers!
We will be focusing on perennials and woody plants to cut in May, which can be a challenging time of year for a flower grower. You will discover how these plants groups bridge the floral gap between spring bulbs and early summer annuals. Rachel’s floral demonstration will show how they can provide all the elements of an arrangement – framework, focal, supporting and accent. Taking centre stage will be the peonies and bearded iris, flowering branches of viburnum and lilac will provide structure, quirky twists of honeysuckle and tellima, flecks of colour from geum and buttercup.
She will show you how to pick and condition for optimum vase life and then demonstrate how she translates the garden to the vase, or in this case to one of her hand thrown footed bowls using sustainable floristry techniques.
After a home cooked lunch you will turn your hand to creating an informal hand tied bouquet in a garden-gathered style.
Go home with your bowl arrangement and bouquet, plus some growing tips and seeds so you will have plenty to pick in your own cutting gardens next May.
