If you grow flowers and collect ceramics then what could be better than immortalizing them in a small but perfectly formed painting to keep you going through the less floriferous months?
We discovered Debbie George’s work on Instagram and have been a firm follower ever since. Her paintings are a celebration of her passion for flowers and the objects with which she surrounds herself, which are an enviable collection of vintage mugs and jugs collected since the age of fourteen.
Debbie paints onto small gessoed boards to build up layers of paint, creating a wonderful luminosity and depth that she reveals by scratching into the layers, inscribing to emphasise form.
After a foray into the cutting beds with Rachel to select your floral subjects you will arrange them into your favourite mug or jug to create your still life. Debbie will then gently guide through her creative process as you paint your own pieces to take home.
No experience needed and tools and materials will be provided – just bring a favourite mug or small jug.
Home cooked two course lunch and refreshments are provided.
Take home a painting and a hand picked bunch of flowers!
